Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Preview - Chandler? I Barely Know Her!

What’s Happenin’?

Sven back with another article looking ahead to Week 11 of this fantasy hockey season. Your trade deadline is likely looming, I hope we are all buyers and not sellers this year! This past week, Nashville got their act together thanks to some great play from Juuse Saros, the Sabres… are starting to stock their pick and prospect cupboard, and our pick last week the Yotes were able to get the job done in three out of four to move into a tie in points with the Blues! Here’s what I’m liking this week:

Not going to feature a huge write-up on the Canes because I have liked them virtually every week this year, but they do have a nice schedule playing Chicago and Dallas twice each. Martin Necas has been on a tear lately so grab him if you can, and watch to see what they do with Petr Mrazek this week.

This is also a solid week to have any of the big boys on Toronto or Winnipeg. They will play each other twice to decide top spot in the North, while also each having another two games on the week. Jack Campbell remains a solid pickup, while fantasy owners will hope for a big week from Mark Scheifele!

Vegas plays LA twice, and Minnesota twice.

The best in the West are coming off a split with Colorado, and open up a four-game home stand this week against two pesky teams still looking to scrape into playoffs. Minnesota will be a test, but I don’t see why this Vegas lineup can’t steamroll LA in the first two games.

START – Lehner/Fleury, Shea Theodore

It’ll be an interesting week for Robin Lehner / Marc-Andre Fleury owners to get an idea of who is going to earn more starts down the stretch. Wednesday and Thursday we will see the Knights play back-to-back against their two opponents for the week, so those two games are bound to be divvied up. The other two are wide open. With Alex Pietrangelo out, Theodore has been an absolute beast and I expect more of the same this week.

STREAM – Chandler Stephenson (23%Owned ESPN, 20%Owned Yahoo)

Once a bottom-six afterthought on a very deep and established Washington Capitals team, Stephenson is yet another misfit that found themselves in a prominent role with Vegas. Since the Paul Stastny trade, he has mainly centred Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone and has established himself as a very solid streamer / hold in deep leagues. He shot the puck a whopping five times their last game! Don’t expect that this week, but assists galore playing with two world-class wingers.

As for the rest of the week, not a lot interests me but we will keep our eye out for mid-week streamers as things unfold. Will also try to sprinkle in some gambling picks this week. Let’s win some fantasy matchups!

Take care,

Sven
